Thank you for visiting Brockton’s Employment Opportunities page.  Currently we are seeking qualified applicants to fill the following positions for the upcoming school year:

Teachers-on-Call:

Teachers-On-Call are required for the coming 2008-2009 academic year.  Applicants should be prepared to teach throughout the school (K to 10). 

The opportunity to work with the International Baccalaureate programme in an IB World School setting may be of particular interest to recently qualified teachers. An understanding of the International Baccalaureate programme would be helpful; experience teaching in an IB school is NOT required.

TOC candidates must be eligible for certification through the BC Independent Schools’ Office or for membership of the British Columbia College of Teachers.

General notes on Brockton School:

Brockton seeks educators who are creative, compassionate, qualified in and passionate about their teaching subjects, and ready to go the extra mile for their students.  Candidates must be eligible for membership of the British Columbia College of Teachers or for certification through the BC Independent Schools’ office.

Brockton is a co-educational independent school offering Kindergarten to grade 10. The school is located in a delightful residential area of Lynn Valley in North Vancouver.

Brockton School has been awarded the status of an International Baccalaureate World School (www.ibo.org).The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is fully authorized and Brockton is a candidate school for the Middle Years Programme (MYP).

The IB Primary Years Programme is the ‘inquiry based’ framework for the Kindergarten to grade 5 programme at Brockton. Students in grades 6 to 10 are following the IB Middle Years Programme. Brockton School is accredited by the Ministry of Education of British Columbia.

All teachers contribute to the broad range of extra-curricular programmes offered at the school as well as some supervisory duties.
