School Leadership

Mrs. Cathy Grunlund, Head of School

Mrs. Grunlund brings to Brockton her many years of experience as an educator and school leader in the independent and public school systems.  She completed both her Bachelor of Education and Master of Arts (Educational Administration) from the University of British Columbia.  Mrs. Grunlund has extensive experience teaching primary, middle and senior school students (Kindergarten to Grade 12) and has frequently been asked to participate in the education of teachers.  She began her school leadership experiences as a Principal with the Vancouver School Board and was, prior to arriving at Brockton School, the founding Head of Aspengrove School (an IB World School) located in Nanaimo.

Mrs. Grunlund is committed to continuing to build and strengthen Brockton School and is especially delighted to be given the opportunity to continue her journey with the International Baccalaureate Programme.

Mrs. Alison Wall, Director of Primary and Middle Years Programmes & IB MYP Coordinator

Mrs. Wall provides leadership in school development, especially in the growth of the IB programme at Brockton.  Her strong commitment to the IB philosophy and practices and in the personal development of the students is reflected in all aspects of her daily work.

Mrs. Sandy Brun, Librarian & IB PYP Coordinator

The private school system in the Lower Mainland has gained immensely from Mrs. Brun’s expertise and extensive experience in library development and gifted education.  Mrs. Brun brings to Brockton an inspired approach to library programming for children at all levels and experiences, critical for successful development of the school’s Library and Research Centre.  In the library, her focus is on the appraisal and acquisition of resources in support of the students’ quest for knowledge based on “learning through inquiry” as developed in the IB programme.
